About the Author

Born and raised in Sydney, NSW, Australia, I have always had an interest in social history actually listening to my mother’s stories. It was not until a family history assignment for a Practical History subject during my teacher training that I realised my true interest in genealogy and the social history that surrounds it. I have now completed a Diploma in Family History from the University of Tasmania which inspired me to write.

I now find myself the one in the family who has been drawn to tell the stories of the ancestors. The one who is called to find the ancestors to put the flesh in their bones to make them come alive in our memories again. Genealogy is not just about the facts of births, marriages and deaths but trying to recreate who these people were. Their DNA contributed to the creation of their descendants. They deserve to be remembered.

I am the researcher and storyteller trying to revive their memory.
